I love travelling and I enjoy organising travel, finding the best deals, good hotels and the best attractions to see is a challenge. For 8 years I have been organising Overseas travel for friends, family, sports teams, schools or for myself. People are always asking me where have you been lately and they are always amazing at how much is planned and organised into such little time, and are then stunned when they find out how little the travel had cost. Then eventually I hear, Iwant to travel, will you “take me overseas” on your next trip.
So this website has been inspired by those people who want to travel but dont know where to start, what to expect, where to look for information, where to go, how to get there and most importantly in the spirit of all Aussie travellers how to do it cheaply.
This website is not aimed at the backpacker who is setting off to explore the world and will return home when they run out of money. This website is about short term travel. Say 1 week to 3 months. It is not about planning a holiday. A holiday to me implies rest relaxation and doing a lot of nothing, outside of skiiing or sunbaking.
Short term travel is inspired by Australian budget airlines flying internationally and people who want to travel but are limited by available time, often they have a good job and dont want to risk quitting and travelling for an extended period of time or they may have time over university Summer break.
Short term travellers want to see and experience as much as they possible can in the short amount of time they have to travel. They know that they may never get back to the places they are about to see. Destinations are determined either by inspiration “I have always wanted to go to Germany” or as a result of cheap airfares. I went to Tokyo and Osaka last year as the return trips were less than $400. Later this month I am going to China for $180 return. How could I say no to that.
